There are about 70 genera and 1200 species of bamboo plants in the world. They are mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions and a few are distributed in temperate and boreal regions. The world bamboo can be divided into the Asia Pacific bamboo, bamboo and African bamboo area. Bamboo is rich in resources and has a long history of cultivation and utilization. There are more than 500 kinds of bamboo resources in China, and the area of bamboo forest is 5.2 million hm2, accounting for nearly 1/4 of the total area of bamboo forests in the world. Rich resources for the development of China's chopsticks industry has laid a good foundation.
